“I got into running probably like 7 years ago. That was a big transition, pivotal point in my life where I needed something new. I needed a change in my life and running kind of was the outlet that I found that really inspired me to grow and give me new goals to set in front of me.”

Yatika Star Fields is a Native American painter, muralist, and street artist, born in the city of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Yatika is the first indigenous runner to complete Western States 100. In this episode, Yatika chats with Luis about land acknowledgement, the Ultramarathon Caballo Blanco, the confluence of art and running, what makes a successful painting, his painting process, and his experience running the Western States 100.
